JD Vance shares ‘loopy’ story about ICE, CBP officers in Minneapolis

Vice President JD Vance on Sunday shared what he known as a “loopy” account underscoring the risks federal immigration officers are going through in Minneapolis, amid a sequence of agent-involved shootings and escalating unrest.

Recounting a latest go to to town, Vance described an incident wherein off-duty Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Safety (CBP) officers have been doxxed whereas eating at a restaurant.

In response to Vance, their location was publicly revealed, the restaurant was mobbed, and the officers have been successfully trapped inside.

“After I was in Minneapolis, I heard a variety of loopy tales. However close to the highest of the record: A few off responsibility ICE and CBP officers have been going to dinner in Minneapolis,” Vance wrote on X. “They have been doxed and their location revealed, and the restaurant was then mobbed. The officers have been locked within the restaurant.”

Vance mentioned native police refused to reply when the officers known as for assist.

“The officers have been locked within the restaurant, and native police refused to answer their pleas for assist (as they have been directed by native authorities),” he wrote. “Ultimately, their fellow federal brokers got here to their support.”

“That is only a style of what is occurring in Minneapolis as a result of state and native officers refuse to cooperate with immigration enforcement,” Vance wrote. “They’ve created the chaos to allow them to have moments like yesterday, the place somebody tragically dies and politicians get to grandstand concerning the evils of imposing the border.”

Vance urged Minneapolis officers to alter course.

“The answer is staring everybody within the face. I hope authorities in Minneapolis cease this insanity.”

A day earlier, Vance described the unrest in Minnesota as “engineered chaos” following one other deadly federal agent-involved taking pictures.

On Saturday, 37-year-old Alex Pretti, a Minneapolis nurse who was carrying a licensed handgun whereas protesting a federal immigration enforcement operation, was fatally shot by a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

Authorities say Pretti resisted arrest after making an attempt to intervene within the operation.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey didn’t instantly reply to Fox Information Digital’s request for remark.
