The growing consensus seems to be that NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ mysterious wife, Brittani, is, in fact, real, but one of Rodgers’ good friends still hasn’t met her.

ESPN’s Pat McAfee spoke extensively about what he hopes to see for Rodgers, 42, in an interview with the Daily Mail. McAfee, 38, was also asked if he had met Brittani.

“I have not,” McAfee said in the story published Monday, March 2. “But I am, once again, happy for him… and if I get a chance to meet her, that’ll obviously be cool.”

Rodgers, who spent the 2025-26 NFL season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, first revealed that he was married by showing up to a June 2025 press conference at Steelers camp while wearing his wedding ring. He has only revealed that his wife’s name is Brittani and told McAfee during a 2025 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show that she “doesn’t want to be in the public eye.”

Apparently, many of the Pittsburgh Steelers players’ wives, girlfriends and spouses are like the rest of Us — they don’t know much about famed quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ new wife, either. “She’s like a phantom,” one unidentified wife of Rodgers’ teammates told The Daily Mail in an interview published on Saturday, November 8. “We all want […]

The mystery surrounding Brittani has led some to speculate that she doesn’t exist or is an AI wife. In January, podcasters Charlotte Wilder and Madeline Hill claimed on their “Sports Gossip Show” that they believed they had found the real Brittani with some cybersleuthing and breadcrumbs left by Rodgers himself.

Later that month, Fox Sports reporter Jen Hale revealed that she knows Brittani’s identity, but declined to out her publicly.

“Everyone knows,” she told the Daily Mail. “I can’t [say who she is]. If I could, I would, but I can’t. He’s happy. He’s in a really good spot.”

Hale, 48, continued, “I’ve never met her. I don’t know her. Aaron has become a friend over the years, so I wish him the very best. I think he’s happy. And that’s all you want for your people — you want them to find their comfort zone and their happiness. He went through some really tough times, and I’m glad he’s in such a good place now.”

Though McAfee also hasn’t had the pleasure of meeting Brittani, he said that, personally and professionally, he “would just like Aaron Rodgers to be happy.”

“He’s committed so much of his life to this game,” McAfee said. “Obviously, there’s a lot of public scrutiny for everything that he’s ever done. Some he’s obviously caused. Other things, I think he gets taken out of context a lot. He’s pretty misunderstood.”

Rodgers still hasn’t announced a decision on whether he will play next season, and if he does, if he will return to the Steelers.

“I think he could still spin it,’ McAfee said. “[But] whatever the hell he wants to do, I hope he’s happy. And if we get to see him throw some footballs again, I hope it’s on a winning team.”
