To the editor: As a producer within the inventive area and a working lady myself, I attended “Working Lady” at La Jolla Playhouse with my household. We had a blast.
Theater critic Charles McNulty’s evaluation missed essential context: The musical continues to be a piece in progress (“‘Working Lady,’ the musical, is a crude knockoff of ‘80s music and elegance (and the unique film),” Nov. 19). There was a talk-back following the efficiency offering perception into the manufacturing’s improvement, however this wasn’t talked about within the evaluation.
Past that, I discovered McNulty’s evaluation puzzling. Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer was diabolical as Katharine, hilarious and villainous directly. Joanna “JoJo” Levesque introduced actual gumption to Tess, with stunning, sturdy vocals.
