To the editor: Has Iran adopted insurance policies that permit industries use an excessive amount of water and energy (“Iranian capital faces water rationing and evacuations if it doesn’t rain quickly, president warns,” Nov. 7)?

California’s AI business is utilizing great quantities of water and electrical energy. What Tehran faces could also be California’s future if we’re not severe about getting ready for a protracted drought.
