To the editor: This text states that at round 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, a resident is mountain climbing the path above Cranium Rock when he shoots video of a wisp of white smoke (“‘It’s nonetheless smoldering.’ A hiker’s video of Palisades fireplace raises questions on state’s duty,” Oct. 26). He whispers, “It’s nonetheless smoldering.” What then?
The remainder of the reporting speculates on who’s chargeable for monitoring or not monitoring the world that may erupt into the devastatingly harmful Palisades fireplace.
It’s by no means reported whether or not the Jan. 2 hiker referred to as 911 to report a wisp of smoke in what’s a tinderbox of dry park wilderness. Did the Los Angeles Hearth Division obtain a report and never reply, or was the decision by no means made? There’s a deeper story right here and these questions have to be addressed.
