To the editor: So Vice President JD Vance visits L.A. for lower than 5 hours to berate the town, California and its officers and to attend a fundraiser (“Vice President JD Vance rips Newsom, Bass and mocks Padilla throughout go to to Los Angeles,” June 21). Couldn’t he have stayed in Washington to do most of that? He would have saved the taxpayer some huge cash for the air journey and Secret Service, along with the inconvenience to L.A. drivers with the added visitors that his brief go to brought on.

Ann C. Hayman, Westwood

..

To the editor: Apparently Vance has conveniently forgotten the Jan. 6, 2021, revolt. Or maybe his statements have been a recollection of that day with the names modified. For instance, take this a part of considered one of his statements: “You had regulation enforcement officers that have been being captured and overwhelmed by a violent mob, egged on by Gavin Newsom and different officers.”

Paying homage to Jan. 6, the identify Donald Trump suits in that slot completely. And the place was the Nationwide Guard then?
