President Donald Trump and key administration officials toured the Lincoln Memorial on Thursday, guiding the presidential motorcade through the drained Reflecting Pool undergoing major renovations.
Renovation Origins
Last month, the president highlighted concerns over the condition of this iconic Washington, D.C., landmark. He directed his pool expert to resurface the pool using an industrial-grade finish in American flag blue.
Site Visit Details
Accompanied by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, Trump engaged with the Oklahoma-based painting crew on site. He discussed his strong electoral performance in Oklahoma, prompting one worker to respond, “We love you in Oklahoma.”
White House communications advisor Margo Martin shared on X that the purpose of the visit was to “see the progress of the project and meet the hardworking team behind it.”
