Daniel Radcliffe plays a documentarian on The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins — but off screen he would love to make an actual movie about costar Tracy Morgan.

“Honestly, [I would like to make a documentary about] Tracy. Just to follow him around with a camera for a certain amount,” Radcliffe, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly. “I asked him if he would ever do that and he was like, ‘I’m still living but maybe later.’”

Radcliffe was grateful for the chance to share the screen with Morgan, 57, saying, “Working with Tracy means you are going to hear and say five of the craziest things you’ve ever heard in your life. But he’s also an incredibly generous and fun scene partner.”

He continued, “The thing that comes through when you’re working with him is that we all just love working and love being there on set. As soon as Tracy realized that he liked all of us and that we were all in it together, you could tell he loosened up and had a great time.”

The NBC mockumentary sitcom, which premiered in January, stars Morgan as a disgraced former NFL running back attempting to rehabilitate his image following a previous gambling scandal. Radcliffe, meanwhile, plays a filmmaker hired to produce a documentary about Reggie’s life.

Radcliffe’s costar Bobby Moynihan referred to Morgan as “a big beating heart” of their show.

“He is going to say what he’s going to say. It’s really fun to improvise with Tracy Morgan because it’s a blast,” Moynihan, 49, noted. “He is a party. He walks in with a boombox, he walks out with a boombox. It’s that much fun to play with him on and off screen as well.”

Morgan’s onscreen son Jalyn Hall called the actor “so full of wisdom, genuine, personable and so inviting.”

“Those are traits of a good man — they’re even better traits of a good teacher,” he shared while Precious Way added about her onscreen husband, “He’s so supportive too.”

While speaking with Us, creator Robert Carlock revealed how the show “started with” Morgan.

“I’ve worked with Tracy off and on since Saturday Night Live in the 90s. I’ve just always loved writing for him. Of course we had him on 30 rock and he sort of put his hands up and said, ‘I’m ready to do something new,’” Carlock noted. “We said, ‘Please get the band back.’ So we sat down with Tina [Fey] and eventually sat down with Tracy. We were watching a lot of sports documentaries at the time like The Last Dance and Beckham. We thought that was a really rich place to start with a family comedy but a fun new take on the doc.”

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins airs on NBC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
