Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is real, as Ubisoft’s Jean Guesdon dropped a statement about it on an official blog post. There’s also new artwork alongside a new logo. Other than that, Guesdon shared more details about several upcoming projects like Codename HEXE, Codename INVICTUS, and Assassin’s Creed Jade.

Here are all the latest official details on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, along with more related aspects.

With Jean Guesdon’s recent blog post, fans now have official confirmation that the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake is no longer just a rumor. It is currently in development. Guesdon recently returned as the Head of Content at Ubisoft, now working with Martin Schelling, the new franchise head.

The blog post mainly mentions the company’s plan for 2026 and later, what fans can expect, and the projects the developers are working on. After talking about the upcoming titles, Jean Guesdon says,

“Speculation around Assassin’s Creed is not new, but it’s worth repeating: “Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.” Well, except in this case, some whispers have a little more wind in their sails. Keep your spyglass on the horizon.”

Subsequently, there’s an attached image of Edward Kenway with a logo that says “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.” This logo differs from the original a bit, and the number “4” is no longer in the name.

As Guesdon says, “Keep your spyglass on the horizon,” this could be a subtle hint of a late-2026 release for Black Flag Resynced.

While he didn’t mention anything else, fans might get more details during the game update live stream on Ubisoft’s Twitch channel. It will occur on March 20, 2026, at 10 am PT/ 6 pm CET.

While the most intriguing part about the recent update is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Jean Guesdon also talks about the upcoming projects that are in development. Here are the details:

  • Codename HEXE: After Clint Hocking left the project, Jean Guesdon is now the new Creative Director of Codename HEXE. The game is expected to have a unique, darker, narrative-driven journey, set in an important moment in history.
  • Codename Invictus: The team behind For Honor (Ubisoft Montreal) is developing Codename Invictus, which is a PvP multiplayer AC experience.
  • Assassin’s Creed Jade: No major details have been shared. Fans may get more info during the game update live stream on March 20.
  • Co‑op: Ubisoft is looking to bring co‑op to Assassin’s Creed titles.
  • Netflix live-action series: Regarding the AC live-action series, the post says, “Something tells us you won’t have to wait very long.”
  • Free 60 FPS patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity: The title will receive a free 60 FPS update on March 5 (Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5).
  • Xbox Free Play Days: Several AC titles will be free-to-play from April 2 to April 6 for Xbox players.
