President Donald Trump informed reporters Friday that his Director of Nationwide Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, is “mistaken” in her evaluation that Iran shouldn’t be near constructing a nuclear weapon.

Trump’s feedback got here after he departed Air Power One en path to his Bedminister, New Jersey, golf membership, when he stepped apart to take a number of questions from reporters. 

“She’s mistaken,” Trump mentioned after he was requested about Gabbard’s evaluation that Iran shouldn’t be near constructing a nuclear weapon. “My intelligence neighborhood is mistaken.”

Trump’s remarks have been preceded by a query from a reporter asking the president, who publicly opposed the Iraq conflict roughly 20 years in the past, what made this case with Iran totally different – contemplating no weapons of mass destruction have been ever discovered after the George W. Bush administration invaded Iraq. 

“There have been no weapons of mass destruction. I by no means thought there have been. That was considerably pre-nuclear. In the meantime, final week Gabbard posted a cryptic three and a half minute video on X final week, warning of the dangers of a possible nuclear conflict, and blasting “warmongers” for bringing the world “nearer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever earlier than.”

President Donald Trump mentioned aboard Air Power One earlier this week that he does not care what Gabbard says, “I believe they have been very near having one,” when pressed on the pair’s divergent opinions.

This week, in line with The Guardian, Senate Intelligence Committee Vice Chair, Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., mentioned Gabbard’s evaluation has been “reconfirmed” by present intelligence.

Fox Information Digital reached out to Gabbard’s workplace for remark however didn’t obtain a direct response.
