Trump says nuclear subs to be positioned after former Russian president’s comment

President Trump on Friday stated he is ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned within the “acceptable areas,” in response to threatening feedback made by Russia’s former president. 

“Based mostly on the extremely provocative statements of the Former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, who’s now the Deputy Chairman of the Safety Council of the Russian Federation, I’ve ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned within the acceptable areas, simply in case these silly and inflammatory statements are extra than simply that,” Mr. Trump posted on Reality Social. “Phrases are essential, and may typically result in unintended penalties, I hope this is not going to be a type of situations.”

Mr. Trump did not say the place the submarines can be. The White Home declined to remark.

Over the previous few days, Medvedev has responded to Mr. Trump’s threats of sanctions if Russia doesn’t attain a ceasefire settlement with Ukraine.

In a separate submit, Mr. Trump stated Medvedev ought to “watch his phrases” and referred to him as “the failed former President of Russia, who thinks he is nonetheless President.”

On Thursday, Medvedev took to Telegram, in Russian, to warn Mr. Trump “how harmful the fabled ‘Useless Hand’ could be,” a reference to the system designed to set off the launch of Moscow’s nuclear missiles.
