President Donald Trump introduced on Reality Social Friday that he commuted the sentence of disgraced former Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., after a number of marketing campaign finance violations.

“George Santos was considerably of a ‘rogue,’ however there are a lot of rogues all through our Nation that aren’t compelled to serve seven years in jail,” Trump wrote.

“I began to consider George when the topic of Democrat Senator Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal got here up once more…. That is far worse than what George Santos did, and at the very least Santos had the Braveness, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!” President Trump added.

“George has been in solitary confinement for lengthy stretches of time and, by all accounts, has been horribly mistreated. Due to this fact, I simply signed a Commutation, releasing George Santos from jail, IMMEDIATELY.”

Santos had reported to serve his sentence in federal jail on the finish of July earlier this 12 months, with a theatrical X put up by which he wrote, “Effectively, darlings… The curtain falls, the highlight dims, and the rhinestones are packed.”

The previous consultant pleaded responsible in 2024 to wire fraud and aggravated identification theft.
