Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday stated the state was sending its voter rolls to the Justice Division to examine for potential ineligible registrations.

Abbott confirmed the state’s transfer in a put up on X, writing that solely Americans can vote within the Lone Star State.

Federal officers have more and more pressed states on voter roll compliance points lately, arguing that transparency round registration lists is crucial to sustaining correct information, stopping administrative errors and making certain voters believe in election outcomes.

DOJ SUES SIX STATES FOR REFUSING TO TURN OVER VOTER REGISTRATION ROLLS, WARNS ‘OPEN DEFIANCE’ OF FEDERAL LAW

Final week, DNC Chair Ken Martin stated Democrats are ready to take authorized motion ought to states conform to share the knowledge with the DOJ, claiming eligible voters are being put prone to being purged and that it opens the door to privateness issues.
