In an effort to discourage and block homeless encampments from forming alongside Marine View Drive in Tacoma, metropolis officers have licensed a collection of everlasting “no parking” indicators alongside the thoroughfare.

The “no parking” indicators particularly state it’s for tenting, with the time slated as “anytime.”

This answer comes after town tried to dam encampments from forming on that highway by organising obstacles and blockades. The obstacles have been established between the Cliff Home Restaurant and the Hylebos Bridge at E. eleventh Road, in accordance with The Tacoma Information Tribune.

The obstacles have been shortly deemed as visible litter and an eyesore by the neighborhood.

Town plans to position anyplace from 75 to 100 everlasting “no parking” indicators.

“This no parking mannequin has been profitable in over 80 websites all through the Metropolis thus far, and we might count on the identical consequence alongside Marine View Drive,” Tacoma Councilmember Sarah Rumbaugh informed The Tacoma Information Tribune in an e-mail.

If the “no parking” indicators show ineffective in curbing homeless encampments alongside Marine View Drive, Rumbaugh said that town will return to reinstall the short-term obstacles.
