SmartGym, Apple’s 2023 Apple Watch App of the Year, releases a significant update today with long-awaited features for enhanced workout tracking.
Seamless Strava Integration
Users now sync workouts from SmartGym directly to Strava. Sessions logged in the app automatically transfer to Strava profiles.
Developer Matt Abras states, “Strava syncing has been a really popular request.” The update addresses challenges from SmartGym’s standalone operation on Apple Watch, where users often exercise without their iPhone nearby.
Workouts captured solely on the Watch now appear on Strava without manual input, thanks to optimized backend processes.
Third-Party Workout Aggregation
SmartGym also aggregates data from third-party apps, functioning as a central dashboard for all fitness activities. Users import sessions from Apple Fitness+, the built-in Apple Watch Workout app, or other platforms to view everything in one place.
