Los Angeles authorities have charged a 35-year-old woman with attempted murder after she allegedly fired shots at Rihanna’s home while the singer and her family were inside.
Details of the Charges
In a Tuesday press conference, Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman revealed that Ivanna Lisette Ortiz faces one count of attempted murder, nine counts of assault with a firearm, two counts of shooting into an inhabited dwelling, and one count of shooting at a motor vehicle. Conviction on these charges could result in a life sentence in state prison.
Incident Overview
Hochman explained that Rihanna and her partner, ASAP Rocky, were inside an Airstream trailer on the property when Ortiz allegedly opened fire. No injuries were reported from the incident.
Ortiz’s actions prompted a swift response from law enforcement, leading to her arrest and the formal charges announced this week.
