The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face off against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 54 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, May 10. The clash will take place in Raipur, the former’s adopted home venue.
RCB have lost their last two games on the trot, but they won’t be too worried. They are still placed in the top four and will back themselves to beat a struggling MI side with only three wins to their name so far.
RCB’s squad for IPL 2026: Rajat Patidar (c), Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Phil Salt (wk), Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Jacob Bethell, Venkatesh Iyer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Nuwan Thushara, Yash Dayal, Rasikh Dar, Suyash Sharma, Swapnil Singh, Abhinandan Singh, Vihaan Malhotra, Jordan Cox, Satvik Deswal, Mangesh Yadav, Vicky Ostwal, Kanishk Chouhan, Jacob Duffy.
On that note, here is RCB’s predicted playing XI, plus some impact player options, for their IPL 2026 match against MI.
Openers: Virat Kohli and Jacob Bethell
Virat Kohli will continue to open the batting alongside Jacob Bethell, with Phil Salt expected to spend some more time on the sidelines owing to a finger injury. Bethell will have to come good after a few low scores.
Middle Order: Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (c), Tim David, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya
No changes are expected in the middle order. Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar will be in the top four, with Jitesh Sharma, Tim David and Romario Shepherd in the middle order.
Jitesh and Shepherd haven’t been in great nick lately, but Bengaluru are expected to keep faith in the two players. With Krunal Pandya chipping in in both departments, the defending champions have some flexibility.
Lower Order: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Suyash Sharma, Josh Hazlewood
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been RCB’s star bowler in IPL 2026 and will have Josh Hazlewood for company. Suyash Sharma will be the frontline spinner even as his recent form hasn’t been too promising.
Impact Player Options: Rasikh Salam, Mangesh Yadav
Rasikh Salam has been expensive, but RCB could persist with him for a while longer. Mangesh Yadav is an option in case the think tank want to look beyond Rasikh.
