To the editor: The assertion by contributing author Josh Hammer that “politics, coverage and regulation are false sources of which means” is ridiculous (“What retains me grounded and grateful within the vacation season,” Nov. 27).

Versus politics, he tells us, “This vacation season, I’m grateful for my household — above all, my spouse and our stunning daughter, who’s about to show 1.” Get up, buddy — politics, coverage and regulation will decide the world you and your loved ones will stay in, a world that’s heading for disaster beneath the present lawless regime with insurance policies that eat up religion, consolation, well being, properly being, freedom and equity.

I’m glad I’ve lived to be 83 and was in a position to stay in a free America that was making an attempt to do the suitable factor for the most individuals, the place the 2 events compromised for the higher good, and alternative was continuously reborn with character and reality. It was by no means excellent, but it surely labored on betterment in lieu of spoil.

By the way in which, Hammer, the Declaration of Independence that you simply confer with and respect offers foundational rules for American authorized thought and constitutional interpretation. It’s a supply of elementary rights that are actually being discarded by the president and the Republican Celebration.
