Pentagon pushes again on Nationwide Protection Technique divide claims and reviews

Rejecting reviews of a break up with the brass, the Division of Battle says the Nationwide Protection Technique was “seamlessly coordinated” with senior civilian and uniform leaders — and that “any narrative on the contrary is fake.”

On Monday, The Washington Put up reported that a number of senior officers had raised issues in regards to the forthcoming technique, pointing to a divide between political management.

Deputy Secretary of Battle Steve Feinberg pushed again on Wednesday, in an on-the-record assertion to Fox Information Digital.

“The Division’s Nationwide Protection Technique has been seamlessly coordinated with all senior civilian and army management with complete collaboration — any narrative on the contrary is fake,” Feinberg stated.

A senior Battle Division official stated the technique was the product of “in depth and intensive” collaboration throughout the division.

The drafting staff included a coverage lead, a Joint Workers deputy and representatives from the army providers who consulted extensively with civilian and uniformed workplaces.

Underneath Secretary of Battle for Coverage Elbridge Colby and the appearing deputy under-secretary for coverage, Austin Dahmer, met with leaders from each group. The official referred to as that stage of policy-shop engagement “unprecedented.”

Air Drive Gen. Dan Caine, who chairs the Joint Chiefs of Workers, supplied suggestions on to Secretary of Battle Pete Hegseth and Colby, the official stated, and each assured him his enter could be mirrored within the last draft.

The Put up report stated political appointees within the Pentagon coverage workplace led the drafting and described unusually sharp pushback from some commanders over priorities and tone. 

The Battle Division disputes that characterization and says the doc was coordinated on the principal stage and aligned intently with the Nationwide Safety Technique.

The pushback comes a day after Hegseth addressed lots of of commanders at Marine Corps Base Quantico.

Hegseth says new directives will restore rigorous bodily, grooming and management requirements and require fight roles to fulfill one set of bodily benchmarks.

The Washington Put up didn’t instantly reply to Fox Information Digital’s request for remark.
