The Nobel Basis weighed in Sunday after Venezuela’s opposition chief gifted her Nobel Peace Prize to President Donald Trump.

Maria Corina Machado gave her Peace Prize to Trump throughout a gathering on the White Home final week. The Nobel Basis pushed again on the legitimacy of such a switch on Sunday, nevertheless.

Machado defined her choice to provide Trump her award in an interview with Fox Information.

“He deserves it,” Machado informed “FOX & Buddies Weekend” co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy. “It was a really emotional second.”

Machado mentioned she introduced the prize to the president on behalf of the Venezuelan folks, crediting him for the historic work he did in liberating the nation from its dictator Nicolás Maduro.

As a longtime Maduro critic, Machado has been vocal in supporting Trump’s unprecedented removing of the disgraced Venezuelan chief, prompting her to credit score him with the prize for the historic seize.

Trump appeared happy and gratified by Machado’s gesture.

The Norwegian Nobel Institute had tried to close down the switch earlier than Machado met with Trump earlier this month.
