WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland (fka Edge) joined AEW in late 2023. The veteran is one of the most recognisable names in professional wrestling, and Tony Khan has immense faith in him. He has held the TNT Championship twice and is currently allied with Christian Cage.

All Elite Wrestling’s locker room deeply respects Copeland. He has a good relationship with many popular stars, including former two-time International Champion Will Ospreay.

The Aerial Assassin underwent a major neck surgery last year. He was out of action for several months, but he made a stunning return at Revolution 2026. He unsuccessfully challenged AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley at Dynasty 2026. Following this loss, he began training with the Death Riders.

Like Ospreay, the Rated R Superstar has had neck problems. He retired in 2011 because of this. However, he eventually recovered and made an earth-shattering return at the 2020 Royal Rumble match. Before his surgery, the English native spoke to the legend for mental support and guidance.

In a recent interview with Forbes, the Aerial Assassin said that Copeland is the ‘godfather’ for this kind of surgery.

“Yeah, I spoke with Adam Copeland quite a lot about it, just because I guess he’s kind of the godfather of this surgery. He’s had three of them. I think he’s had a [triple fusion neck surgery]. I remember when I got told how severe it was because I didn’t realize how bad it actually was. I’d been wrestling on it for like 10 months. It only really started getting bad around May, and then it started f****** destroying me,”

He continued,

“But I spoke to him, and he gave me the whole backstory of when he found out about his surgery and what was going to happen. He gave me his number to keep in contact because he knows it can get really depressing at times. So if I ever needed to vent or bulls**t, he was always a great person to call or text about stuff,”

AEW star Will Ospreay might officially join the Death Riders soon

Jon Moxley promised Ospreay that he is going to turn him into a professional wrestling weapon. The English native is not officially a member of the Death Riders; however, he might eventually join hands with the dark side.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the former AEW International Champion. Turning heel and becoming a part of the villainous faction might elevate his career.
