The Pittsburgh Steelers are waiting on veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers to make a decision on his NFL future after a strong 2025 season with the franchise.

Earlier this week, reports emerged that the veteran quarterback will travel to Pittsburgh to negotiate a contract with the Steelers. However, Steelers general manager Omar Khan seemingly dismissed those reports, stating that the team is not aware of Rodgers’ whereabouts.

During Friday’s appearance on “You Better, You Bet,” Khan said the team has had “positive” conversations with Rodgers in the offseason but he is not aware of his specific location.

“Yeah, you know, I don’t know where specifically Aaron is,” Khan said. “You know, I can tell you that Aaron and I, and Coach [Mike McCarthy] and Aaron and Aaron’s representatives, we’ve had some good conversations since the season ended and since Mike got here and it’s been positive.

“But, yeah, I don’t know where [Rodgers] is at this moment. We continue to have conversations and they’re positive and, you know, we had a good experience with him last year, and, you know, I think he would probably echo the same thing and, you know, conversations continue.”

The Steelers reportedly planned to sign Rodgers by the 2026 NFL draft. However, the team now hopes to finalize a deal before the OTAs begin on May 18.

NFL insider claims Aaron Rodgers’ Steelers deal not “imminent” this weekend

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Aaron Rodgers will visit Pittsburgh over the weekend. However, Rapoport said that there is no guarantee of a deal being finalized during Rodgers’ visit.

“I’m not saying it’s imminent that he’s going to sign this weekend,” Rapoport said. “There’s still no deal; they still have to discuss things. When all is said and done, the expectation is that Rodgers is back with the Steelers.”

Rodgers signed a one-year deal worth just $13.65 million with the Steelers last season. However, he is reportedly seeking a deal worth more than the $15 million guaranteed by the unrestricted free-agent tender.
