Hollywood celebrities reportedly left behind a dirty Dolby Theatre after the Oscars held on March 16, 2026, at the venue.

An image shared by Hollywood editor Matt Neglia on March 16 went viral online, featuring an empty Dolby Theatre left dirty after major celebrities attended the 98th Academy Awards that evening. The image features used plastic water bottles, used tissues, yellow napkins, and empty tetra packets all over the theatre. Neglia wrote in the comments:

“Clean up on aisle ALL.”

Fans took to X to react to the viral image, with many criticizing Hollywood celebrities for their behaviour. One X user wrote:

“Rich people leaving their dirt for poor people as always.”

@dom_lucre Rich people leaving their dirt for poor people as always.

Some other comments were as follows:

@dom_lucre Is someone not paid to clean that place up.

@dom_lucre You’d just know all the talks about saving the planet are just for show

@dom_lucre Nothing says save the planet like leaving someone else to clean up the mess afterward.

Fans continued to weigh in on the matter:

@dom_lucre They lecture the world about climate and responsibility, but can’t even clean up after themselves? What kind of example is that?

@dom_lucre Imagine being the staff having to clean up this chaos… yikes 😔🧹

@dom_lucre Exactly what most of their houses would look like if they didn’t have money to pay people to clean it.

Oscars 2026: Michael Jordan wins Best Actor and Jessie Buckley wins Best Actress

On March 16, Michael B Jordan took home the most coveted Best Actor award at the Oscars for his performance in The Sinners. During his acceptance speech, Jordan acknowledged the achievements of the previous Black artists who have won at the Oscars. He said:

“I stand here because of the people that came before me – Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forrest Whitaker, Will Smith, and to be amongst those giants, amongst those great, my ancestors, amongst my guys. Thank you, everybody in this room and everybody at home, for supporting me throughout my career. I feel it. I know you guys want me to do well, and I want to do that because you guys bet on me.”

He added:

“Keep betting on me, and I’m gonna keep stepping up and keep being the best version of myself I could be. I just want to say thank you to everybody in this room who has something to do with my success. I love you guys.”

Meanwhile, Jessie Buckley won the Best Actress award at the Oscars for her performance in Hamnet. Buckley played the role of Agnes Shakespeare, the wife of legendary playwright and poet, William Shakespeare, in the adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s book of the same name.

During her acceptance speech, Jessie Buckley showed gratitude to her family. She said:

“Thank you so much. This is…this is really something. Thank you to the incredible women that I stand beside; I am inspired by your art and your heart, and I want to work with every single one of you. To the producers who created this ship for us to stand in, and my shipmates for life—Hilda, Jessica, Lindsey, Zack—none of this is possible without you.”

Buckley continued:

“You, Fred, I love you man. I love you; you’re the most incredible dad. You’re my best friend, and I want to have 20,000 more babies with you, I do. I do! And Isla, my little girl who is eight months, who has absolutely no idea what’s going on and is probably dreaming of milk, but this is kind of a big deal, and I love you and I love being your mom, and I can’t want to discover life beside you.”

Speaking of the feeling of motherhood, she added:

“It’s Mother’s Day in the U.K. today, so I would like to dedicate this to the beautiful chaos of a mother’s heart. We all come from a lineage of women who continue to create against all odds. Thank you for recognizing me in this role. This is the greatest honor. I can’t even believe it.”

The Oscars also featured Amy Madigan winning Best Supporting Actress for Weapons and Sean Penn winning Best Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another. The film also took home two other Oscars for Best Film and Best Director.
