A major AEW champion has been scheduled for a high-profile title defense outside the company. The star is the current National Champion.

Popular star Mark Davis shocked the world as he became the new AEW National Champion on the May 9th episode of Collision with the “Farewell to Hell” special. The episode emanated from the SoFi Center in Palm Beach, Florida. During the high-profile match against “Jungle” Jack Perry, Davis held his own against the high-flying superstar. In the final moments of the match, Don Callis ran from commentary to distract the referee. Just then, Ricochet came in from the crowd and hit Perry in the back with a golf club. This allowed Davis to hit the Close Your Eyes and Count to Three on his opponent, and become the new champion.

This week, All Elite Wrestling announced that Mark Davis will continue his busy schedule on Friday at ROH Supercard of Honor. The national champion will defend the gold against CMLL’s Xelhua. This will be Xelhua’s fifth appearance for ROH. In fact, it will be the first time the two stars will square off inside the squared circle. The announcement was also shared on social media by Ring of Honor’s official Twitter handle. The event is set to emanate from the Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

Several AEW stars are scheduled for ROH Supercard of Honor

Several notable AEW stars are officially scheduled to compete at this Friday’s ROH Supercard of Honor event on HonorClub. Among the newly announced matches, ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty will defend his title against Ace Austin, who is coming off a recent loss to Will Ospreay on Dynamite. Moriarty’s reign has now reached an impressive 658 days, with the champion successfully defending the title 15 times during his historic run.

Another major title match will see newly crowned ROH Men’s TV Champion AR Fox put the championship on the line against Lio Rush after Rush immediately challenged him following Fox’s title victory over Nick Wayne. Elsewhere, Zayda Steel secured the final spot in the Survival of the Fittest match for Athena’s ROH Women’s World Championship by defeating Hyan.
