A forgotten Drew McIntyre was recently mentioned during a WWE show. This reign took place years ago.

Drew McIntyre was promoted as the future of WWE when he first signed with the company. However, the pressure weighed heavily on him and he ended up becoming a jobber before his release. Following his release from the sports entertainment juggernaut, he reinvented himself and joined TNA Wrestling under the ringname Drew Galloway, where he won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship one time. After a successful stint in TNA, he returned to WWE where he was part of the NXT brand. He also ended up winning the NXT Championship once. Both of these title reigns were recently brought to light.

Tonight on NXT, Joe Hendry competed in a ladder match to determine the next NXT Champion. During the bout, Vic Joseph said that If Joe wins tonight, then he would join Robert Roode, Drew McIntyre, Nic Nemeth, and Trick Williams as the only people win the TNA and NXT Titles.

Drew McIntyre gave his honest thoughts on Trick Williams signing with SmackDown

Trick Williams had an impressive run on NXT over the past year. His impressive performances on the black and silver brand earned him a main roster call up where he signed with SmackDown.

During an interview with TMZ Inside The Ring, McIntyre was all praise for Trick Williams. He also said he hopes the former NXT Champion capitalizes on his opportunities.

“Coming up right now, that I’ve gotten to see enough of, maybe Trick,” McIntyre said. “He certainly has a great look, charisma, and ability. It’s just what you do when you’re given the ball. I got the ball to the highest level when I was younger and wasn’t able to quite maximize and had to take the long way around. Hopefully, Trick takes that opportunity and absolutely smashes it. Based on what I’m seeing, he’s young, jacked, and handsome, just like I was. He’s going to get some opportunities.” [H/T PWMania]

It’s good to see Trick Williams getting praised by the Undisputed WWE Champion.
