A New York Metropolis police officer was shot in Midtown Manhattan on Monday night, police confirmed.

A minimum of two civilians had been additionally wounded within the taking pictures and the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, regulation enforcement sources stated.

Police stated they responded to a name for pictures fired simply earlier than 6:40 p.m. at 345 Park Ave. The world was blocked off and the constructing was being evacuated, CBS Information New York has realized.

The NYPD and Mayor Eric Adams requested the general public to keep away from the neighborhood of East 52nd Road between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue.
