Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa Lifeless at 75

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, an actor well-known for his work within the ‘Mortal Kombat’ franchise, is lifeless.

Tagawa died Thursday in Santa Barbara, California, the results of issues from a stroke … his household tells Deadline.

He was reportedly surrounded by household, together with his youngsters, when he died.


Tagawa is known for taking part in Shang Tsung, an evil sorcerer, in ‘Mortal Kombat’ motion pictures, TV exhibits, and video video games.

Along with his work in ‘Mortal Kombat,’ Tagawa can also be identified for his roles in “The Final Emperor”, “Memoirs of a Geisha” and “The Man within the Excessive Citadel.”

Tagawa was a martial artist skilled in Kendo. He was born in Japan however moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina when he was 5 years outdated. In a 2010 interview, he recalled being Japanese within the South within the Fifties … saying it was “fairly robust.”

Amongst his almost 150 performing credit … “Massive Hassle in Little China,” “Tekken,” “Pearl Harbor,” “Planet of the Apes,” “Elektra,” “Snow Falling on Cedars,” “47 Ronin” and “License to Kill.”

Tagawa was 75.
