Metrolink practice hits stationary practice at L.A.’s Union Station; 8 harm

Eight folks had been injured Wednesday morning when a Metrolink practice arriving at Union Station collided with a stationary practice, authorities mentioned.

The incident befell round 7:30 a.m., and one passenger was taken to a hospital for therapy, mentioned Metrolink spokesperson Brett Hawkins. Six passengers and the practice conductor suffered minor accidents.

Ventura County Line Prepare 104 was carrying 85 passengers when it slammed into an empty Metrolink practice on the platform. The reason for the collision is underneath investigation by Metrolink’s security, safety and compliance division.

The impacted trains had been going for use for San Bernardino Line Trains 310 and 327, each of which had been then canceled.

“Thankfully, at the moment of morning, we now have San Bernardino Line trains operating each half-hour, so the operational impression wasn’t too heavy,” mentioned Hawkins.

In June, a semitruck collided with a Metrolink practice in Moorpark, killing the truck driver and sending one passenger to the hospital. In January, a Metrolink practice struck a automotive within the Metropolis of Trade, killing two folks contained in the car.
