To the editor: This motion has nothing to do with crime (“Trump embraces tough-on-crime mantra amid D.C. takeover as he and Democrats declare political wins,” Aug. 22). There are numerous crimson cities which have a lot increased crime charges than Washington. If Trump had been a “regulation and order” president, he would have referred to as the Nationwide Guard when the Capitol of the US was attacked and cops injured throughout the Jan. 6 riot by his supporters.

No, that is akin to Nineteen Thirties Germany, when Adolf Hitler was unleashing his brownshirts to intimidate the overall populace and soften them up for a dictatorship. Making a false emergency after which pretending to be the answer is a web page proper out of the dictator’s playbook.

This isn’t simply one other information story. That is the information story of our time, and hopefully the still-free press will deal with it as such.

To the editor: “Trump takes a tough stance on crime” is the funniest, most ironic headline within the historical past of the Los Angeles Occasions.

To the editor: White Home spokesperson Taylor Rogers brags about eradicating 600 harmful criminals from D.C.’s streets. In the meantime, D.C. homes an unrepentant and unpunished 34-count convicted felon within the Oval Workplace.

Oops, Rogers — seems such as you missed one.
