To the editor: Now we have seen President Trump reduce off meals and medical support to poor nations, particularly in Africa, which can seemingly lead to tens of hundreds, if not hundreds of thousands, of deaths. Now we’re seeing his cruelty right here within the U.S.

By reducing off federal meals help (or SNAP), he’s utilizing starvation as a weapon in a partisan energy play (“Trump administration posts discover that no federal meals support will exit Nov. 1,” Oct. 26). For the reason that primary political disagreement accountable for the federal government shutdown is whether or not healthcare insurance coverage subsidies might be ended, what Trump is telling hundreds of thousands of poor and working-class People is that if they need meals, they have to quit healthcare. In the meantime, he’s constructing himself a gilded ballroom to wine and dine his rich company.

To the editor: We simply made an enormous donation to our native meals financial institution, which we’ve got supported for years. I really feel like I additional perceive these presently confronted with the choice to both preserve working within the authorities to put it aside, or to stop over not wanting to assist this administration.

I didn’t need to donate the cash as a result of it not directly helps Trump and his Republican Social gathering proceed to destroy our nation. However how can I let folks go hungry? There needs to be sufficient meals for everybody, to the purpose the place we don’t want meals banks. However the unhappy actuality is that we do — particularly now.
