To the editor: Phrases like “concern,” “terror,” “desperation” and extra clarify that individuals who might doubtlessly be rounded up by federal legislation enforcement want decision (“‘It’s a threat to return to work’: Terror and a contact of desperation in L.A.,” June 19). Provided that the president, Congress or the U.S. Departments of Justice, Homeland Safety and others are unlikely to alter the legal guidelines or present different reduction, is it logical to proceed evading or hiding?

And for many who encourage and allow these with out paperwork to remain, what’s so humanitarian about that path? Isn’t that one other logical disconnect?

There could be just one logical and humanitarian answer for immigrants and their enablers: Search authorized entry to the U.S., even when it begins with self-deporting.

Raymond Roth, Oceanside

..

To the editor: President Trump wants to right away change Immigration and Customs Enforcement exercise and immigrant deportations with “A Huge Stunning Immigrant Amnesty Program.” If he desires all immigrants documented, then he ought to assist them get paperwork. Merely declare that if immigrants register on-line or by phone instantly, they won’t be deported and will likely be processed to obtain inexperienced playing cards.

Whereas this may take time, it might finish pricey ICE exercise, deportation bills and deportations of law-abiding, employed households. It could finish the large concern, uncertainty and struggling that’s presently sweeping the immigrant inhabitants. It’s going to finish greater costs coming in building, agriculture, caretaking and different industries utilizing immigrant labor.

If Trump and others can’t sleep at night time as a result of some immigrants lack a inexperienced card of their pocket, establishing a program to do this is what must be completed.
