To the editor: Not solely is your complete conspiracy concept false, however the declare that it’s potential to see the voter’s choice by way of a gap within the return envelope is demonstrably inaccurate, at the very least for Los Angeles County ballots (“California poll design prompts false conspiracy theories that the November election is rigged,” Oct. 14). The “sure” and “no” circles for voting are lower than an inch from the poll fold (or backside of the envelope, relying in your placement). The holes within the envelope are roughly two inches from the underside and 4 inches from the highest of the envelope. Whereas ballots in different counties could have totally different layouts, L.A. County is California’s most populated by far and makes up a large quantity of the ballots.

It’s disappointing that the secretary of state recommended that voters might need to take extra steps to guard the privateness of their ballots with out mentioning this. It’s also disappointing that the Los Angeles Instances didn’t embody this fact-check in its article.
