To the editor: Columnist LZ Granderson’s warning about media consolidation may need rung true within the Nineteen Seventies, when ABC, CBS and NBC commanded over 90% of TV viewing (“How media consolidation silences free speech,” Sept. 20). Nevertheless, the panorama is radically completely different at this time. In keeping with Nielsen, broadcast now accounts for less than 20% of TV viewership. And in Could 2025, streaming (44.8%) surpassed the mixed share of broadcast and cable (44.2%) for the primary time in U.S. historical past.
