To the editor: Whereas I 100% agree with visitor contributor Robert Repino about calling out the MAGA politicians, pundits, sycophants and opportunists, I take nice challenge with portray everybody who voted for Donald Trump with the identical brush (“As Trump’s reign implodes, inform MAGA ‘I advised you so,’” Oct. 7). The folks we have to get by means of to are those who’re barely listening to politics, who’re voting with the final consensus of their group or on their instinctive feeling that Trump is chatting with them, or the impression that he’s a person of motion.

MAGA is wise. They don’t name me silly. They don’t indicate that I’m corrupt. They are saying that I’ve been misled by radicals, shady politicians and opportunists. We have to observe their lead.

There are many horrible, disgraceful Trump supporters whom we should always assault with each rhetorical system now we have. However we additionally want to acknowledge that troublesome financial circumstances, altering demographics, evolving social mores and the inevitable march of time have made a majority of our residents extraordinarily susceptible to a harmful authoritarian. Name me condescending, however we have to meet these folks the place they stay and reassure them they haven’t been written off as ignorant, egocentric bigots, and that there’s a higher means.
