To the editor: How can holding a hearth chief chargeable for poor decision-making result in a possible taxpayer-funded bonanza for her legal professionals (“Ousted L.A. fireplace chief claims Bass ran a misinformation marketing campaign, defamed her to save lots of herself,” Aug. 20)? The Los Angeles Instances’ personal investigative reporting uncovered the reality. She reportedly had “roughly 1,000 obtainable firefighters and dozens of water-carrying engines” that would and may have been pre-deployed. The short response of those fireplace crews and gear to identify fires may have made all of the distinction. The climate info supplied to the fireplace chief was her obligation to behave upon. Kristin Crowley’s demotion is totally justified.
