His newest exhibition, Devoted to the One I Love, displays what Jeffrey Gibson describes as a journey very similar to a loving relationship — marked by ups and downs, moments of nice pleasure, and instances of issue. As the primary Indigenous artist to signify the USA on the Venice Biennale, Gibson talks about bringing Native American practices and performances to his pedestals on the U.S. Pavilion, and about how the concepts of French philosophers Simone de Beauvoir and Jacques Derrida have discovered their approach into his installations. We focus on the inventive and social realities of residing underneath a Trump presidency, and the sense of positivity he found by immersing himself within the pure world.[/gpt3]
