Lead in Subnautica 2 is one of the resources needed for crafting. Since you need this material to make some of the crucial tools and items, getting your hands on some as soon as you reach the surface is important. Although the spawns can be a little random, the general area remains the same. Hence, if you know the location, you won’t face problems getting your hands on Lead.
That said, this article discusses how you can obtain Lead in Subnautica 2.
Ways to acquire Lead in Subnautica 2

Currently, you can find Lead in Subnautica 2 at around 60 – 70 meters under the surface. However, if you only go down, you won’t get the resource. For that, you must head towards 60 degrees to the north-east from Lifepod. After swimming roughly 300 – 350 meters, dive down to the floor and look for a purple-colored ore that resembles Titanium.
After spotting some, go close to the mineral and hit the left mouse button to get some Lead. Keep in mind that this only works on small ores. For the medium-sized ones, you must click it a couple of times to break it.
As for the big clumps, you’ll need a Sonic Resonator. Equip the tool and go close to the ore. When the crosshair turns green, hold the right click for a bit to charge it. Release the button to unleash the blast, which will destroy the cluster into pieces, granting you some Lead.
While looting this mineral, make sure not to pick up other items, as it will take inventory space, slowing down the farming process. Furthermore, keep an eye out for hostile creatures while you are getting this resource, as they can easily eliminate you. If you end up dying while farming Lead, you will lose the items in your inventory. Hence, ensure your safety first.
With a limited supply of oxygen, you have to keep going to the surface and go back to the ocean floor to get Lead. Since this process will take a significant amount of time, you can equip yourself with an Air Bladder. The item will somewhat speed up the process.
