Where to find the Green Shadow’s Blade boss in Nioh 3
The Green Shadow’s Blade is an early-game optional mini-boss in Nioh 3. Once you complete Chapter 1, The Battle of Hitokoto Slope, you will gain access to the open world of the Warring States period. Go to Tokaido, which will be to the south of the starting region of the Tenryu River.


Follow the path and keep heading south till you come across the Forest of Souls Shrine. You will see two paths here, and you will have to take the one to the left. Refer to the above image, and you will find the boss near the marked chest in the southeast area of the Shrine.
Tips and tricks to defeat the Green Shadow’s Blade in Nioh 3
The Green Shadow’s Blade is not that hard to defeat if you know his moveset, but it can prove to be a challenge if you are underleveled. Try to farm the nearby enemies and get to at least level 15 if you are having a tough time. There are a few enemy camps located throughout the first few regions of the game that you can clear to obtain some Amrita.

The Kusarigama is one of the best early-game weapons in Nioh 3. It is fast and can be used from a medium range. The Dual Tachi and Tachi are good for Ki preservation while dishing out stable damage.
How to defeat the Green Shadow’s Blade in Nioh 3


Before you start fighting the Green Shadow’s Blade, it is ideal that you defeat some nearby enemies to farm your Guardian Spirit. Once that is done, challenge the boss. Here is how to beat him:
- The boss will rush at you and hit you with his katana. You can either parry it or dodge it.
- The boss does a standard 4-hit combo. Every attack can be parried.
- Keep an eye out for when he kneels on the ground and unsheathes his weapon. Move away as it does an AoE hit that cannot be blocked or parried. He will mostly unleash this move after he parries your attack (Indicated by a golden glow).
- Use Guardian Spirit if you are having a tough time.
- If you are having a tough time, make sure to summon an NPC to aid you.
- You can also employ Ninjutsu to tackle the boss from afar. When you deplete your arts, go in and land a few hits to recharge them.
- The boss will block most of your attacks, so the ideal way is to wait for him to open up and land a few pokes in.
- The Green Shadow’s Blade in Nioh 3 also has an attack that deals water damage. Side step to dodge this attack.
Defeating the Green Shadow’s Blade in Nioh 3 will give you some Amrita as well as gear pieces.
