The Midland Every day Information brings an thrilling replace within the 1991 hit-and-run case of Gregory McRoberts.

In 2010, I posted concerning the case and the letter that his mother and father acquired. It seemed to be from the motive force who struck their son on his bike and left him to die.

The remark I discussed got here from creator Phillip Finch. He wrote me that he suspected the motive force/author to be a lady or {that a} lady wrote this letter on behalf of another person.

The newspaper now updates us on the case. A hint of DNA was discovered.

Gregory McRoberts’ daughter Teigha McRoberts (35) goes to satisfy a lady who’s  “forensically linked as a 3rd cousin to the individual whose DNA was collected from the nameless letter’s envelope.”

Remember that this does not imply that lady was the motive force. As Midland County Sheriff’s Det. Brent Benzing mentioned “he doesn’t know if the DNA collected is that of the hit-and-run driver or somebody who was within the neighborhood of the envelope.”

Nonetheless, this might be a possible lead. As quickly as extra data is printed I’ll replace the case.

When you have any details about the case, contact the Midland County Sheriff’s Workplace at 989-839-4600.
