Details of the Interception

The incident occurred on Thursday night, January 22, 2026, when the woman, identified only by her first name Vane, arrived from Sao Paulo, Brazil, via a connecting flight from Doha, Qatar. During routine screening, X-ray scans revealed suspicious items in her baggage, prompting a thorough inspection by customs officials.

Examinations uncovered about 8.197 kilograms of suspected cocaine concealed within the luggage. The substance was confirmed through field testing, leading to her immediate detention.

Legal Proceedings and Agency Response

The suspect faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for attempting to import illegal narcotics into the country. Officials emphasized the operation’s success in bolstering border security and preventing the influx of dangerous substances.

This bust highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking at major entry points, ensuring public safety remains a top priority.
