Delta Air Strains is trimming its home community with the elimination of two routes.

The provider will stop flying between Atlanta and Santa Barbara, California, in addition to between Salt Lake Metropolis and Fairbanks, Alaska, as first seen in Cirium schedules and later confirmed by an airline spokesperson.

The Salt Lake Metropolis-to-Fairbanks route operated through the previous summer time season and was initially scheduled to renew in June 2026. Nevertheless, the airline seemingly wasn’t impressed by the route’s efficiency, as a result of it is now being minimize totally.

Going ahead, Delta vacationers heading to Fairbanks can get there year-round from Seattle and through the summer time season from Minneapolis.

In the meantime, Delta may also be reducing one among its latest routes from Atlanta. The Atlanta-to-Santa Barbara route launched in June 2024 as a part of a leisure-focused community enlargement. It is the longest route from Santa Barbara, which has traditionally primarily been linked with flights from bigger cities on the West Coast.

Whereas Atlanta is Delta’s largest hub, the airline seemingly could not fill sufficient connecting visitors for vacationers heading to and from Santa Barbara. Anybody flying to the California metropolis from factors west of Atlanta could be higher off connecting in a metropolis like Denver or Phoenix, somewhat than backtracking to hop on Delta’s Atlanta nonstop.
