A United Airways flight diverted to Salt Lake Metropolis final week after the pilots found a crack in one of many layers of the windshield, and a climate balloon hitting the windshield might have been what brought about the crack.

NTSB Investigators try to find out if one thing struck the windshield of the Boeing 737 mid-flight and in that case, what that object was. Dean mentioned WindBorne “operates a constellation of lengthy length light-weight climate balloons to enhance climate forecast, with a lot of our information going to each US and worldwide governments. … We have not but obtained any operational steerage.
