Former Louisville star and NFL quarterback Chris Redman was named head coach of the Louisville Kings, a 2026 UFL growth workforce, on Tuesday.

Apart from a few seasons as an assistant coach at a Texas highschool, that is the primary teaching job for the 48-year-old Louisville native.

“Chris Redman is the proper option to be the top coach of the Louisville Kings,” UFL co-owner Mike Repole mentioned in a information launch. “A local son of Louisville, Chris represents the guts and soul of town. He’ll pair that keenness with elite management at each stage to construct a championship tradition for the Kings.”

A member of the Louisville Cardinals Ring of Honor, Redman threw for 12,541 yards and 84 touchdowns throughout 4 seasons on campus from 1996-99. He received the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as a senior.
