Kennard Davis Jr., a beginning ahead for No. 7 BYU, was arrested for suspicion of DUI after a automobile accident on Thursday in Provo, Utah.

Provo police stated Davis was handled for minor accidents and his automobile was impounded. A spokesperson informed ESPN on Friday that the opposite social gathering concerned within the accident didn’t maintain any accidents.

“We’re conscious of the allegations and searching into the state of affairs,” BYU stated in an announcement.

The arrest comes because the Cougars (3-0) put together to face No. 3 UConn (3-0) on Saturday in Boston. A spokesperson for the college wouldn’t verify to ESPN whether or not Davis traveled with the workforce.

A 6-foot-6 switch from Southern Illinois, Davis has averaged 9.0 factors and 27.0 minutes in two begins this season with BYU. He sat out Tuesday’s 85-68 win towards Delaware with a leg harm.

Pupil-athletes who run afoul of the regulation at BYU can endure main penalties, as the college’s honor code requires all college students to make “a private dedication to abstain, each on and off campus, from alcoholic drinks, tobacco, tea, espresso, vaping, and substance abuse.” Violations can result in dismissal from the college, the flagship faculty of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Davis averaged 10.3 factors and 4.0 rebounds in 64 video games (41 begins) whereas at Southern Illinois, incomes all-conference honors final season.
