Britney Spears reflected on her “spiritual journey” in an Instagram post following her guilty plea to reckless driving after she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The 44-year-old pop star shared a photo of a white-and-yellow “baby” snake on Instagram while writing about God and gratitude without directly addressing her May 4 plea.

“Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what a beautiful baby snake this is,” she wrote. “Snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck.”

“I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey… all a blessing in disguise,” she added. “I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself.”

“It’s a never-ending journey, and sometimes I just stop, look up, and say, ‘Wow, God, I think that was you,’ and smile on,” Spears added.

Spears was pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence on March 4. Two months later, she pleaded guilty to a vehicle code violation known in California as “wet reckless” — a reduced charge that applies to first-time offenders with a low blood-alcohol level in cases not involving a crash or injuries.

She was sentenced to one day in jail, credited as time served, and 12 months of probation. Spears did not appear in court; she was represented by her attorney, Michael A. Goldstein.

“She has taken significant steps to implement positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI,” Goldstein said in a statement.

The substance involved has not been publicly disclosed. Under California law, any future DUI conviction within 10 years would be treated as a second offense.
