President Trump reiterated his name for Senate Republicans to dispose of the filibuster to finish the shutdown Friday, telling reporters throughout a bilateral assembly with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán that “the way in which to do it for the Republicans is to terminate the filibuster.”
Senate GOP leaders have pushed again on the president’s request, saying that the votes aren’t there to dispose of the 60-vote threshold wanted to advance most laws.
