A airplane carrying 49 folks crashed in Russia’s far jap area of Amur Thursday, authorities stated.

The plane, a twin-engine Antonov-24 operated by Angara Airways, was headed to the city of Tynda from the town of Blagoveshchensk close to the Russian-Chinese language border when it disappeared from radar, regional governor Vassily Orlov stated on Telegram.

Forty-three passengers, together with 5 youngsters have been on board together with six crew members, The Related Press reported, citing Orlov.

A rescue helicopter later noticed the airplane’s burning fuselage on a mountainside about 10 miles from Tynda, authorities stated.

The helicopter noticed no proof of survivors from above, native rescuers stated.

The Amur area’s civil protection company stated it was dispatching rescuers to the scene.

“In the intervening time, 25 folks and 5 models of kit have been dispatched, and 4 plane with crews are on standby,” it stated.
