GOP Home Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer stated he plans to begin contempt of Congress proceedings towards Invoice and Hillary Clinton for ignoring the committee’s subpoenas associated to its ongoing probe into the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. 

In July, a bipartisan Home Oversight Subcommittee authorized motions to subpoena Invoice and Hillary Clinton and a slew of different high-profile political figures to assist its investigation wanting into how the federal authorities dealt with Epstein’s intercourse trafficking case. 

The subpoenas had been then despatched out in early August, and the Clinton’s had been scheduled to testify Dec. 17-18. 

“It has been greater than 4 months since Invoice and Hillary Clinton had been subpoenaed to take a seat for depositions associated to our investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrific crimes. All through that point, the previous president and former secretary of state have delayed, obstructed, and largely ignored the committee workers’s efforts to schedule their testimony,” Comer stated in a press launch issued Friday night.

“If the Clintons fail to seem for his or her depositions subsequent week or schedule a date for early January, the Oversight Committee will start contempt of Congress proceedings to carry them accountable.”

Comer’s threats come as Democrats from the Home Oversight Committee launched a brand new batch of images obtained from Epstein’s property, which included additional photographs of the disgraced financier with highly effective figures like President Donald Trump and former President Invoice Clinton. Hundreds of photographs had been reportedly launched, with probably extra to come back.

Different high-profile figures subpoenaed by the Oversight Committee embody James Comey, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Robert Mueller, William Barr, Jeff Periods and Alberto Gonzales.

Along with testimony from these people, Comer and the Oversight Committee issued subpoenas to the Division of Justice (DOJ) for all paperwork and communications pertaining to the case towards Epstein.

In September, the committee launched tens of 1000’s of pages of Epstein-related information in compliance with the subpoena, and the Oversight Committee indicated the DOJ would proceed producing much more information as it really works by way of wanted redactions and different measures that should happen earlier than they’re launched.
