Explosions ship propane tanks flying in Lancaster after car hearth

A truck hearth set ablaze a large mound of propane tanks Friday afternoon in Lancaster. No accidents had been reported as firefighters continued to battle the flames into the night.

The L.A. County Fireplace Division responded to a car hearth at 2:22 p.m. Friday and located a propane truck had caught hearth within the 42500 block of North eighth Avenue East in Lancaster, the division confirmed. The truck hearth unfold and lit a pile of lots of of propane tanks stacked on the property.

Video from a KTLA helicopter confirmed explosions sending propane tanks flying. The flames despatched smoke billowing above the close by industrial space of Challenger Manner.

Firefighters arrange a 300-foot perimeter across the hearth and continued to battle the flames into the night, a division spokesman mentioned. No accidents had been reported as of 4:45 p.m. and no trigger for the car hearth was launched.
