The Georgia prosecutor who took over the 2020 election interference case after Fulton County District Lawyer Fani Willis was disqualified stated in a press release Wednesday he is dropping the costs in opposition to President Donald Trump and his co-defendants.

“In my skilled opinion, the residents of Georgia are usually not served by pursuing this case in full for one more 5 to 10 years,” prosecutor Pete Skandalakis wrote, saying he was ending the case “to serve the pursuits of justice and promote judicial finality.”
